2026 Lions Hondo Little League Challenger

The Little League Challenger Program is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges. Lions Hondo is one of the ONLY Leagues in the State of New Mexico, that facilitates this division.

Any individual with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate. If an individual can participate in the traditional Little League Baseball or Softball program with reasonable accommodations they should do so. The Little League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school.

Flexibility and adaptability are key during Challenger games. Typically games are 1-2 innings long and last about an hour. All players play defensively and bat every inning.

Buddies- are individuals who assist Challenger athletes in the areas of batting, base running and defense, but only as needed. Often buddies are peer athletes who are participating in the Little League Baseball or Softball program.

2026 Lions Hondo Little League Spring Season

Available Divisions:

T-Ball- 4 Years of Age.

Pee-Wee- 5/6 - 7/8 Years of Age

Minors- 9-10 Years of Age

Majors- 11-12 Years of Age

Juniors- 13/14 Years of Age

Potential managers, coaches or volunteers please complete the appropriate "Volunteer" portion of the application process, even if unsure which position is desired. Background Checks must be completed, within SportsConnect, in order to be legit. This is a requirement in order to interact with kids at any capacity, to include Manager, Asst. Coach, Team Mom, Board Member, etc.

*Any requests to be evaluated for "playing up" or down, a division, must be submitted by parent or guardian (at time of registration) and will be conducted by the LHLL BOD, at designated tryout. Player must be evaluated to be considered for a division change, due to safety protocols.

League Age is determined by the 2026 Little League Age Chart

Coaches Discount (50% per account)- Will be reimbursed when coaches are selected and approved, by the Coaches Agent and BOD's and pass a satisfactory background check.
